There was a time in my life when I thought I just needed more discipline. Push harder. Stay strong. That’s what we’re taught, right?
But no one told me that the real fight wasn’t outside—it was inside my own mind.
As a Gulf War veteran, retired teacher, and prostate cancer survivor, I’ve faced more than a few storms. But the one that nearly took me out was the loop of toxic thinking—that cycle of doubt, fear, shame, and silence that eats away at your spirit when you’re trying to “hold it all together.”
I used to think it was weakness to admit I was struggling. But what I’ve learned is this:
đź’ˇ Your thoughts shape your emotions.
đź’ˇ Your emotions fuel your actions.
đź’ˇ Your actions become your habits.
It’s all connected.
And here’s the powerful truth:
You can’t change your emotions unless you first challenge your thoughts.
